- Historical story: Françoise Goubilleau came to New France in 1670, widowed and accompanied by her approximately seven-year-old son, Pierre Maguet. She married Paul Dazé in Montréal on 15 April 1671. Their son Paul-Charles (born 1673) is an ancestor in the Dazé–Charlebois branch of the family. Her inclusion in the University of Montréal PRDH Filles du Roi roster makes this one of the strongest and most moving links in our tree to the history of royal-sponsored immigration. lead
- Evidence and cautions: Fille du Roi means a woman who emigrated with Crown assistance, not a biological daughter of Louis XIV. The direct line comes through Paul-Charles Dazé; her earlier son Pierre Maguet is a half-sibling, not part of that direct line. The Dazé-to-Guillaume (1799) baptism includes a Paré/Dazé surname discrepancy requiring original-act review. lead
